Hello November! November is the National month of Gratitude. Gratitude is more then simply saying “thank you”. It is a deeper feeling of satisfaction and appreciation that fulfills and nourishes from the inside out. Gratitude has the amazing ability to shift us from focusing on the negative to appreciating what is positive in our lives. Practicing daily gratitude allows us to have a deeper connection to ourselves, others, the world around us and our Creator.
There are numerous research studies that have found practicing gratitude enhances overall life satisfaction and subjective well-being. Gratitude is correlated with a sense of satisfaction. With life and work, a positive mood, happiness, optimism, and hope (McCullough, Edmond, and Tsang, 2002). In addition, gratitudecan enhance our moods, describes stress, and drastically improve our overall level of health and well-being. We have seen how gratitude can influence the lives of the people we work with, as well as in our own lives and so we want to encourage you to dig in with us this month to practice Gratitude.
“It is impossible to feel grateful and depressed in the same moment.” Naomi Williams
Here’s what you can expect this month: Each Monday we will have #thankfulness posts, where we will introduce to you a scientifically researched technique to bring you more gratitude in your life that week. And each Friday, we will have our #gratitude posts, where we will explore themes of gratitude and encourage you to identify those things you are most thankful for. We are hopeful you will help spread the power of gratitude by using the hashtags and feel free to let us know how your gratitude practice is working.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; and into his courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.“ Psalms 100:4
