Debby Black, LAC
A positive, passionate approach to helping you develop strength and wellness.
I am a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I utilize a strengths-based approach and believe that individuals possess the capacity to achieve their goals working intentionally with a skilled and empathetic therapist. I favor a Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic approach utilizing evidence-based interventions. When appropriate, I incorporate Positive Psychology principles, encouraging a positive, whole health approach of nutrition, movement, mindfulness, self-care practices and creating/sustaining healthy relationships.
My current practice includes individual counseling for adolescents and adults facing a wide range of difficulties including managing stress, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. I also have a passion for helping couples work through their current struggles while enhancing communication, connectedness and conflict resolution skills. My law enforcement and executive leadership background contribute to expertise in crisis management, peer training, community mental health and organizational resiliency.
